I guess I'll go on record and say "no good reason."

The 10/22 has its own dedicated forum primarily because of the huge aftermarket and mods community.

M&P 15-22 is just another 22 variant. I suppose each variant may have its own issues, but I don't see how the site can have a dedicate forum for every "flavor" of rifle there is.

There's also some harm in that. Certain issues will be consistent across all .22LR chambered guns... what ammo is working, cleaning practices, accuracy tests, extractor issues, mag lips and that sort of thing. The owner of an M&P 15-22 can gain valuable intel just perusing this forum, whereas if they sequester themselves in their own "clubhouse" they may be missing valuable input from the broader realm of .22LR AR15 variants.

Just my $0.02.

I 100% agree. No good reason.

I would like to see one. Searching for 15-22 info, issue, etc comes up wth lots of useless similar threads. No 22 currently has the popularity of the 10/22, but the 15-22 is becoming very popular.

Probably not neccesary in my opinion. Now if you want to Lobby someone get ahold of SW and get them to sign up here with their own Forum over in the Industry section.CMMG has their own section over there so maybe SW needs to also.Plenty of room in any case right here for the SW in this Rimfire section.Alot of the info does crossover to differant manufactureres of AR22s..SW AR22s just do not seem to have the following here that say CMMG dedicated rifles do,no offense but theres probably a reason for that..Thanks

Why not just separate the pistol and rimfire sub forums? Its kind of silly to make a complete sub forum dedicated to one semi popular .22. Just keep a few tacked info threads for it.

Because (I think) the Pistol & Rimfire Caliber forums are supposed to be dedicated to conversions.
Because AR15.com is "Home of the Black Rifle" and the MP15-22 is the best selling "black rifle" .22 ever made.
Because they already have 10/22 and GSG-5 .22 forums, as well as dedicated forums for other popular guns including all popular brand handguns (look in the Armory section and the Handgun sections).
Because the lack of MP15-22 threads present on the forum vs their popularity indicates that people don't know where to post and drives AR15.com traffic off-site for discussion.

The 10/22 and GSG are extremely popular rimfire weapons, but are not AR platforms. The 15/22 IS. Its proper place should be in AR<Rimfire<15/22 folder at best. Anything further is just expanding to absurdity. There just isn't enough demand to warrant it.
Because the lack of MP15-22 threads present on the forum vs their popularity indicates that people don't know where to post and drives AR15.com traffic off-site for discussion.
Do you have any data to back that up? It might just be that people realize that either here or in the rimfire armory section is the proper place for the limited threads they create

Edit: Not to mention increased (theoretically) workload for the mods/increased mod presence, the costs/time involved to restructure the forums, etc. Its not cost effective I'd imagine.

I have worked on a few of them and I don't think they fall in the best category
or even close.
No such thing as best black rifle ever made, maybe a best rifle for your needs if you like
90% plastic that may crack in cold weather if you drop it.

You left out the .22 part. Please sling mud elsewhere.

Honestly if you are really serious on this, pm a mod or staff.

This isn't exactly a tech discussion.

We are in the .22 and pistol caliber threads so no need to put .22 when we all know
what the subject is.
And if you can read and comprehend what I said, (No such thing as a best rifle ever made) as its all opinion.
No best .22, no best 223, no best 6.8, no best 9mm ect ect
Not slinging mud just poining out the facts.

Point being, this thread was to bring attention to the site suggestion forum, and a thread asking about a 15-22 subforum.

I get what you are saying though.
