Did I get a fake PMAG? pics

Or should I say three fake PMAGs.

I bought three foliage green PMAGs, all wrapped in clear and white plasic bags with a Magpul sticker on them, at the gunshow last weekend and when I got home I noticed that they didn't look anything like my other PMAGs.

I can't find pics anywhere on the internet that look like them.

The date code on them is 9/9. The date code on the black one is 10/8. I know the black one is real.

Look legit to me... I just opened one from that same time frame and it looks exactly like yours except mine is non windowed version. What makes you think it is a fake? if its the lack of the magpul symbol on the follower don't worry mine doesn't have it either. I ordered mine from Palmetto FWIW.

That wasn't the one I was worried about. I know that one is real. It was the one with the symbol that had me worried.

The bad part is I looked at those pics before posting this thread.
The good part is now I don't think my PMAGs are fake.

Thanks for posting the link. I guess it took a second look to realize they were the same.......And that I am an idiot.

You probably got the new ones that the dust cover snaps on the bottom, so you don't lose them.

Yup, I agree with the others, yours are the latest rev M PMAG.

The rev M have the letter M on the follower, it have four horizontal exterior ribs on the body (instead of five on the original old model), the new version have larger windows, and there are cartridge remaining numbers next to the windows.

And as the other member said there's a notch at the bottom of the mag (at the rear facing side) so you could snap on you dust cover there so you won't loose them.

That looks like some good improvements and a combination of the P and E mags.

Agreed! Compared to the current PMAG, already one of the most popular AR15/M16 magazines in the world, the new M3 is stronger, compatible with a wider variety of weapons, and has an expanded feature set. Coming this Spring!

That sucks I just bought 30 PMAGs a short time ago to get the Revision M. I'm going to get my fortune read the next time I make a mag purchase.

I hope the new mags fixed the feed lip splitting problem.

Looks authentic to me too. They've revised their design a few times. Even the older mags are awesome.

I wouldn't call it a problem actually. The return rate for broken PMAGs is only about 0.025% on average (2-3 per 10,000), but since we produce millions of mags a year you're bound to run across some defective ones. However, even with these low defective rates for the current generation, we're always trying to improve upon what we've accomplished and the M3 mags have shown in testing to be even more durable. Nothing wrong with the previous ones, the new ones are just better.

Hey justin.

Whats the price point going to be? hopefully not more expensive then the current crop but i know its a big investment to get new dies etc.

Will you switch all production over to the M3? The latest generation has only been out for what? a year or two?

I know they were shipping the non-window January 2009 and the windows (IIRC) around May of that year.

I hear ya Justin. But if you recall, I returned 8 mags to you last year with cracked feed lips. Given that I own 50 PMAG's, my return rate was 16%. Ouch! Some failed after less than 20 uses. So, you're right, I can;t say it's a problem for everyone, but it was certainly a problem for me. To be fair, you were awesome to deal with, and replaced all the mags before I even sent in the broken ones. I couldn't ask for better service. I love PMAGs and I will give the new M3's a try. If they hold up, they'll be my only mag. I see in the description, you describe thmm as compatible with the SCAR 16.... you've changed the bolt hold open slot at the back of the mag! Hooray!
