Looking for a Pmag clip
I'm probably not using the correct terminology but, I'd like to be able to have 2 magazines (One in the well) and one attached to the second one for a faster reload. I can't seem to find a clip that will hold the 2 magazines together. I know I can use gorilla tape and tape them top to bottom so I'll just have to release the empty mag and flip over to load new one but, I'd like to have them both face up. Does anyone know where I can get one of those clips for 2 30 round Magpul P mag that can help me reload faster? Thanks!
redi-mag or redi-mod.
I don't remember the manufacturer, but I had a metal clamp that you could attach two of them.
I ended up selling them since the top round of the reload mag would always walk it's way halfway out of the mag and hinder the reload.
This is a mod to add to the weapon I'm assuming. I really don't want to change the magazine well, and it seems a little expensive (80$) for what Im wanting to do. Is there a cheaper way?
Search on Brownells for a "Pmag Coupler".
They sell for right around $25 IIRC.
Try this http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/sid=61245/pid=40225/Product/AR-15-M16-30-ROUND-MAGAZINE-COUPLER?utm_medium=shoppingengine&utm_source=googlebase&mc_id=10000&gdftrk=gdfV21820_a_7c187_a_7c3466_a_7c100004970_d_100004970_d_10021

Redi-Mag or ITW Fast-Mag and LOTS AND LOTS OF PRACTICE.
The Redi-Mod is no more. Unless you find one used.
Seems to me like the Surefire 60 rnder is a better solution. I'm thinking about getting a couple - one for each carbine as a 'walk out the door to deal with gangbangers on the street' loadout. They should fit in the USMC pouches I use, so no biggy. The first 60 rounds should be the most important IMO, response wise. Frnakly, I need more than that, I don;t want to be there.
I have one, as well. I haven't any complaints, other than it took a little wiggling to get the mags to sit perfectly, so that there was a dead-solid grip on the mags. However, I have seen that there are a couple of polymer options. As they are newer products, I don't have any experience with them, though.

While I agree with you in theory, I think the SF mags are just a bit prematurely released. Tons of reports of poor feeding, jams, etc on them. Seems like SF is making it right, but maybe give it another 6-12 months for them to have a Gen 2.
That being said, I own one. Haven't shot it yet (90 minute wait at the range yesterday!!) I'm hoping I'm not one of the crowd of complainers, but time will tell.
Topic Moved

I don't like the odds. If you have a 60 round magazine that malfunctions(which I predict would happen more often then in a 20-30 rd mag), you are left with a brick. If you have three 20 round magazines and a malfunction, you still have 40 rounds.
The first 60 rounds are the most important

What country are you working in????

Is that a common problem with the reload mag? I am thinking about going this route but might change my mind if it makes reloads a pain in the ass.
Looks like if you get a coupler that allows you to put the 2 mags together then it's going to be on a permanent basis. If you get one of the couplers that allow you to do it on a non permanent basis then they won't hold very well. I think I'll wait till the next kind comes out sometime in spring. If your in the need to give a buddy some ammo in a magazine you won't be able to unclip it and throw it to them.
Also, if the mags are coupled together, pressing the mag release drops both at the same time, which might be a pain. Redi-mags are the way to go.

Ya. You're going to need to train a LOT to make sure you don't fall back on old habits and drop your full reload that is coupled to your empty mag. I train with the assumption that all of my mags drop free when empty, which they do, so while my strong hand is pressing the mag release, my weak hand is already on its way to grab a new mag. To use a coupled mag you have to additionally train yourself that on the first reload your weak hand goes to the mag well to capture the coupled mags before you hit the mag release.
I have every bit of confidence that it can be trained, but people just need to take the time to do it.
Personally, I'd rather use a SF60 as my contact mag, and 30-round Magpuls on my chest rig so I don't have to change my training at all. My SF60 is flawless so far after 5 x 60-rounds of Wolf. If it keeps performing I'll buy a second one, and retire the first from range-mag to home-defense contact-mag in my rifle.

I wish Magpul would make a 40 round mag.
I wish my state of Ohio would allow me to have a SF60 magazine. :( No luck here. Only allow 30 rounds here. It becomes illegal 31 or more. :(
There are also these...

(Also a training/practice issue with this one, similar to the one mentioned above.)
