Hi i live in Long Island, New York and i was going through the law about magazine capacity and need suggestions i found a website in California selling 10 round magazines in a 30 round jacket and it is permanently plated and cannot be modified it even says in their website that it is legal in California and other states with capacity ban . What I understood from the law is that no magazine that doesn’t holds more than 10 rounds and cannot be readily and easily converted to holding more round. So is it legal to buy these magazines here? Below is the link

Some of your post is hard to read but you would probably have to chop the mag up to get in there to modify the block or whatever they are using. Seems pretty solid to me.

Hot link to the link you posted above

Please Note: These magazines are modified by Golden State Tactical to meet the demand for these magazines in California and other states where a capacity limit is in place. These magazines are permanently modified and the floor plate cannot be removed. NO GLUE is used in the modification.

Seems legit to me.......though if you ever dropped them in the mud or something I'm not sure how you'd clean it.

If you do not want to have a permanently attached floor plate you can cut down 20rd mags and add a ranger plate to it.

This isnt hard to do. there was a guide that I posted along time ago Ill see if I can find it.

Also you can put some pins through the body of a regular pmag and seal it so the follower wont go low enough to add more then 10rds.

The modified mags are stupid expensive. For the cost of one you could get 3 preban mags or modify some pmag rebuild kits.

Never heard of these before but buy cheap pmags and use these:

The floor plate will be almost flush with the mag well.

Personally I 'd just buy a shorter mag than the 30. They're a PITA if you shoot from a prone position. 44 Mag (see banner) has them.

FWIW, from my time in CA I had a bunch of 20 rounders blocked to 10.

Metal magazines had a metal tab stamped into the body that was pushed inward to prevent the follower from going past 10 rounds.

PMAGs had a plastic block inside and a pin in the floor plate to keep you from removing the floor plate. A drill fixed both types of magazines in about 5 seconds - drill out the tab and drill out the pin and it was back in 20 rd business. So it depends on what the laws mandate by "easily" modified.

I'm not in a ban state but IIRC the law mentions having to use tools (like drills) to make them hold their original amount again.

im from california and as long as your mag needs a tool to convert the permanent 10 round mag back to a standard mag your good to go..so the 10 round in 30 or 20 round body is good to go.try calling your local gun store also about this
