Keep or sell the old magazines?
As I age, I notice that I have a ––––lot––- of what are apparently now called "pre-ban" AR and AK mags. Since these seem to be at a premium now, and with quality new replacements currently available, would it be wise to sell these "old" mags and buy new? As I am not in a true ban state, I can buy anything under 31 rounds. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
either sell or trade. Us poor shooters behind enemy lines love to get our hands on the 30rd mags there was a thread in the EE at one point were people were trading mags new for older that was pretty nice
I'm biased, but I'd say sell them. Us guys in ban states appreciate the availability, and we'll pay decent money for them. You can also find guys to do swaps with. I've had brand new Pmags sent to guys in trade for pre-bans. You end up with new mags. We end up with old mags that are legal. Everyone is happy (well, we're not "happy", but it's better than 10 rounders).
Id sell them and help out the guys in the states who could really use them.
I just wish there was a way of reconditioning the feed lips on old USGIs to give them some more service life.

+1
I have been selling most of my pre-ban mags to ARF members in ban states here on the EE. A little bit of cash for me to re-invest in new mags that are on the market, and it helps out the guys and gals in ban states who can't (legally) get quality older hi-caps.
FIRST get new mags, and test them
THEN sell them to Ban State Members.

This. Falls under the "pay it forward" mentality. I look for them at gun shows just for that reason.
Typical price on EE is $20 each. it'll be easy to replace what you sell.
I sold mine to help some fellow arcomers out. Easily got enough to replace with new 30 round mags... its a win win.
I'd sell them to those who have "standard cap" bans. DSG has a decent deal on 10 new USGI mags. After shipping it comes out to about $9.40/mag with Magpul followers.
All right-you guys convinced me. I will start sorting through them and put some up here. My brother's Nam bringbacks and some other special ones will be off the table, but I will do them in lots. thanks for the feedback.
