Negative. I just bought my first AR two weeks ago, and I am the only person I know with one. Some company I keep huh? I guess this is one of those things a person should know....well, I don't.

Well you posted it in the Magazine Forum, so I suppose you do know what they are.

There are links above that take you to site sponsors, almost all of them sell PMags.

They're reliable, durable, look good, and cheap. So yes, you DO want some.

Never seen that one before. Been around message boards a long time, so I expect plenty of that for these questions. I read a couple pages after a Google search, but not a single answer of why I should buy them. So, I figured "Hey, I joined a forum that could prob set me straight on what they are and why I need them without having to sift through a bunch of old threads", hence the question. I should have worded the questions better. I have gathered these are the only magazine people seem to use who read this forum, I wanted to know why everyone swears by them. Thanks for the responses.

They are very durable. They are made with a polymer ala Glock and every other polymer pistol. You can drop them on the ground or run them over without worrying about feed lips bending. I have plenty of aluminum GI mags, there is nothing wrong with them but I specifically bought 5 pmags to carry at work.

Have 14 USGI mags. Nothing wrong with them and most of them are new. I have 3 30 round PMAGs. These are my higher use mags. They get thrown around much more where my USGI mags are more or less just used for storage (they stack nicer). For bench rest shooting, the 20 round PMAG is really the only affordable option for 20 round mags but it does have its issues, but still a good prone or bench mag.

I've gotten into the habit of using my PMAGs with my reloads but I still use USGI mags. Both are good options, just really what do you get the best deals on.

Pmags are great. USGI mags with Magpul followers are also an excellent option. Hell for that matter USGI mags with green or tan followers are excellent also.

Love my PMAGS they work great look good and they dont break the bank to buy but you can never have to many mags. So buy a few brands of mags.

they suck... they are complete shit and you should just get usgi mags for 8 dollars because im so cool and love to be unlike everyone else :) (i liked usgi mags before they were cool)

i kid i kid, pmags are awesome, cheep and reliable also they look very nice. If your new to ar's you should deffiently pick up one or 2. my first rifle came with one, and i bought 2 extra that day. still have those mags and they still work great to this day. (that was only about a year ago ) however i would also encourage you to look at the troy battle mags , lancer mags, or standard usgi mags. it all comes down to what you like, i have at least a couple of each but prefer the pmags and battle mags. All have been flawless however. Best of luck hope your new ar is working great !
