replaced front sight with flip up sight, any tips to make sure things are plum and square ?
I replaced a old school front sight gas block with a yankee hill flip up sight.
to the best of my ability i think i have every thing square, any tips or tricks of the trade that i can do to double check everything is square before i tighten the crap out of everything ?
I clamped my rifle down in a vise block then used a small torpedo level to square my front sight up perfectly.
Then I went to shoot and apparently my barrel is off center just a wee bit so I had to adjust my sight accordingly.
YMMV.
Sight it in and give it a try. That's about all you can do after instillation.
You'll have to make adjustments to your sights and see if you have enough adjustment. If the front sight is way off then you'll know pretty quick.
