So after a lot of deliberation and weighing pro's and con's of ACOG vs Aimpoint; ACOG vs SRS; and X vs Y,
I decided to simply, do both.
I plan on getting a TA31-CH as the magnified:
Reason for this is the Chevron looks way too small for me.
The CH is more natural to me and makes more sense for making more precise shots.
On a Daniel Defense or Larue offset mount, I am liking the 10 degree mount,
An aimpoint micro t-1:
Simple, natural transition for close quarters.
Fast Target acquisition at close ranges.
I feel this gives me the best of both worlds.
I thought about running an aimpoint with a 3x mag,
but it just doesn't appeal to me.
I would rather have a dedicated mid range scope and a dedicated red dot.
Yeah this will be a little bit more expensive than going with the aimpoint compm4s i was planning on getting;
But whats another month of putting aside some funds
What are your thoughts?
Is anyone running this combo? if so how is the transition between the t-1 and acog? it seems almost seamless to me.
Good job deciding on the angle mount. Drastically easier to use than mounting a RDS on top of the ACOG.
In all honesty, I'd probably grab one of Nightforce's, Leupold's, or US Optics' variables for that kind of money.

I'm in the same boat.
I'm interested to hear (and see pics) of people who run either setup and which they prefer.
I would go with the TA11 over the TA33. Check out

Both mounts will serve you well. However, the LaRue mount is QD and will return to zero everytime. In my opinion, that makes it the clear winner, even with the price difference.
Waiting for the new AA battery powered 4X ACOG with crosshairs
