do you have a magpul AFG and light??
I currently have a grippod gen 2 and a 1o'clock light mount and i can activate the light perfectly. Problem, the grippod is a brick. I was looking at either a stubby foregrip or the magpul AFG. Can you use the AFG and still activate a flashlight tail cap? If you have this setup, can you post some pics. Tried looking on google images but they're hard to see specifically. Thanks for any help
I use Surefire SR07 pressure switches that mount to the top of my quad rail at 12 o' clock just behind the front sight. With the AFG, I wrap my thumb up on top and activate my Surefire Scout light using the pressure pad. Works fantastic.
EDIT: wrong light position...

See the offset mount on the M&P 15-22? I hold it stubby grip style and my thumb works perfectly to activate it. The M4 works the same way except I use my thumb on the tape switch. Hope this helps!

I have a basic mount and use my thumb to activate my light tailcap. As long as the tail is almost even with the front of the AFG this works well. sorry no pics.
I have an offset mounted light right now, so you think i wouled need a regular mount (3 or 9 oclock)?
I ran one with a surefire universal series. I ran a pressure switch so that I could manipulate it with my thumb in line with it. Im currently running a RVG the same way.
9 o'clock on my cx4, perfectly positioned to use my thumb to control my tlr2s without shifting my grip.
This is how I run mine.
