surefire M3LT- how to tell the 400 lumen from the 800 lumen vers ?
so i've been looking to pick up a new surefire M3LT LED and it seems to be the older ones are mixed in with the newer 800 lumen versions all over ebay and some of the sellers don't have the boxes- so they can't say for sure the output...and i'm not about to pay for what i think is the 800 lumen version, only to get the older model
i've tried looking at the different lights for minute differences- i've noticed that some of the KX9T heads on the M3LT have 5 'cooling fins' while some have 6 'fins', but it appears that there is no correlation between the output level/model year and the looks of the light....
anyone know how to tell them apart visually?
I would email sure fire directly or find a reputable vendor.
