The telephone number also comes back to this site.

$290 for an upper with a quad rail
$99 for a BCG
$20 for Charging Handle
$220 for a complete lower receiver
$50 for sights

Not bad. Isn't there another company that was in Mn that has changed their name a number of times?

I'm brand spanking new to AR15.com, but I'll give you guys my experience with Red X Arms:

I bought a few things from them. Their stuff seems ok. Don't expect Bushmaster quality, but for a home grown AR on a budget their stuff seems ok. I bought a bolt, charging handle, collapsible stock, gas tube and everything I got seems of pretty good quality. The charging handle left a little to be desired, but it wasn't much worse than my DPMS handle on one of my other guns. The stock was commercial sized tube and slightly lower quality than my DPMS, but no biggie for me. The gas tube...well nothing really special about a tube...it works. The bolt seemed to be up to par with my DPMS one, but I haven't fired a lot of rounds to really say for sure. Their customer service seems ok. They did respond really quickly to all of my questions and shipped out my order quickly.

The only thing I'm not so sure about are their gas blocks. I didn't buy one from them, so I can't say for sure, but they look like the lower quality UTG blocks that are known to leak and cause short cycles (my brother bought a similar one from another seller and had tons of short stroking problems). The edges of the piccatiny rails are rounded and scream cheap casting. Not to mention that they are made of aluminum instead of steel. Again, I can't say for sure and they might be fine, but just looking at the pictures they don't seem all that great.

I may order one of their rifle length fluted free floating hand guards as well. I'll report back if I do.

From their warranty page:
Only the use of SAAMI Ammunition is recomended and will be covered under the warranty. The use of reloaded ammunition will void warranty. Also the use of Israeli, Korean, Chinese, Potugese, PMP, South African Produced Surplus, Wolf, Norinco, Any Steel Cased, Lacquer Coated ammunition voids warranty.

So...Ummm...No IMI or South African battle pack or even the Hornady steel training ammo? Screw that.

Really?! ... using Wolf and such does not void RRA LIFETIME warranty....here's a quote from RRAMODERATOR on one their industry threads ... it's archived so you need a team membership to view it.

So not sure where you got that from G22?!

I bought their quadrail and its decent quality. Fit and finish is good, and its sturdy. I'll probably never give it a real test since ill be mounting a light at the most. A couple guys on Predator Masters have ordered complete uppers and barrels, waiting to hear a review from them.

I can say being from MN and being in the manufacturing trade, Blackthorne and Red X are not the same company!

But that's all I will say...

Mike in MN

I have an M4 upper but asked that the regular carbine handguards be changed out for the knurled aluminum. Mine looks great and shoots pretty well. I'm enjoying it.

i could be very much mistaking, but i remember about a year ago i went to the range with an old Marine Corps buddy of mine and he had just bought his brand new RRA Military/law enforcement Special... and we were shooting i think he was useing winchester or remington or something and i was useing silver bear on a rifle i built... my buddy ran out of ammo and i through him a couple of boxes of the silver bear, and he passed em back and told me that he couldnt shoot that or it would void his warrenty... i said really and he said yeah and rambled off something like what the post was above i didnt pay to much attention to what brands or what but i'm almost sure it said something like that, and also no reloaded or hand loaded ammo... i just called him to check on it, and he said he will look at his maunual and get back with me on that one, BUT I MIGHT BE WRONGE I Will clear it up tonight...

DPMS and most other manufacturers have the same warranty statement regarding cheap/foreign ammo, especially lacquer coated.
