I have looked through all the AR Variant thread and didnt see this info anywhere. Can anyone give be details about what parts will work with an Armalite AR-10 stripped lower from the AR-15 platform?

Such as.

Lower Parts,

Trigger

trigger guard
Buffer tube ( want to go with Magpul PRS Stock)
and grip.

Upper Receiver

Plan to use the Rainier Arms Ultra Match barrel ( 24in)

Gas block
Gas Tube ( I know is an AR-10 part only)
fore end ( want something free float and bipod compatible.)

My Plan is to build a precision rig capable of shooting 500 yards ( Sub MOA would be awesome)

I am leaning towards a Luepold Mark 4 or Vortex Viper PST 4-16. I am up in the air about a trigger, first thought was a Timney as i have on in my Varmint AR-15 and I am happy with it but for the money is there a better option for this platform?

Thanks Guy. And sorry if this has been covered before, I just could not find it.

Go into the AR Variants forum. At the top is a thread named ".308 FAQ? Your help & knowledge is requested" Click on it.

The third question is: What parts from an AR-15 can I use in a .308 rifle?

That should be what you are looking for.

For a trigger, the American Trigger SR Gold is awesome! http://www.americantrigger.com/ I have one on my Carbine and it works graeat for both bench work & run & gun. It is however, one of the most expensive. If it's too much then you can't go wrong with Geissele.

Well, since he specifically asked about the AR-10, there is a tacked thread in this forum that will have that info.

What parts will or will not work vary from one mfg to another when it comes to .308 ARs.
