how to remove the front base
i cant tell which pins to knock out to remove my base, they look about the same size to me. in the picture, on one side the pins dont go as far as the other side,
is it the roll pins i need to knock out or be button looking pins.
knock out the 2 big ones on the left, or the small holes on the right?
the smaller holes dont exactly line up
these button looking pins sit out a little further then the other side, like they forgot to make then even on both ends.
not showing as much

From the looks of the picture you have a piston driven rifle. It looks like the front sight base was mounted with taper pins, which run perpendicular (sideways) through the bottom edge of the front sight base and through the bottom edge of the barrel. The taper pins are convex on the heads (domed so they are sticking out), and they are tapered or wedge shaped (meaning that they are bigger on one side and smaller on the other, this is an indicator of which way they were put in and will come out). From what I can see in the picture, it appears that the taper pin heads are larger on the right side and smaller on the left (but visually check them to be sure). To remove the taper pins you will need a 3/32" nail set (you can get at your hardware store, they are for setting finishing nails), a wood or plastic block (piece of wood 2x4 is fine), hammer, and some type of creeping or penetrating oil (I recommend Kroil). Wet the pin heads on both sides, and inside area of the front sight base where the barrel passes through it. Then brace the front sight base flat and firm on the wood block, with the right side down and left side up (if your taper pins are larger on the right and smaller on the left). Place the tip of the 3/32" nail set on the taper pin, and strike the punch with the hammer, knocking the wedge shaped taper pin loose. Once the taper pin has been knocked loose, you can push it out or if needed tap it the rest of the way out using a 1/8" pin punch.

+1 - the two bigger pins on the left are taper pins, and hold the sight base on. The smaller pins secure some portion of the piston system inside the sight base.
So picture 2 is the side I should hammer from.
hammer from the side with the smallest diameter on those bottom two pins. It also looks like there are some set screws in the bottom as well

Normal taper pins are larger on one side and exit from left (smaller side) to right (larger side) - so if they are like standard pins you would whack the side in your first picture, though in your pictures they look the same diameter on both sides to me so they could be straight pins and go either direction.
Do you know the manufacturer of the piston system?

Thats my issue, I think they are both the same size. Its not noticably larger our smaller, is look the same.
Its a stag m8, so I guess its their system. I have tried contact them but no response.

OK I found a video on youtube that describes the system and the guy says those are taper pins like mil-spec FSB

Generally, milspec taper pins will be driven out from the side in your first picture. Measure with calipers if you're not sure, as the difference in diameter is hard to see with an untrained, naked eye.
dumb question, which is the left side if i was looking down the barrel aimng. left is left? and thats the side i should hammer, i hate to hammer and jam it in there even more.

Left side would be with muzzle pointed down range.
