Frog Lube - So who is using it?

Frog Lube
http://www.froglube.com/

Suppose to be a vegetable based CLP. Works about as well as the MPro-7 cleaner I use for carbon fouling.
Seems to work better with heat. At least the stuff has the consistancy of soft wax and the heat helps it melt into a liquid.
Stuff feels like it might be slicker than EWL.
It's also suppose to be good for your hands.

Anyone else try this stuff and what do you think?

I got jar of it. Havent used it on any guns but I've used it around the house some.

It reminds me a lot of Quick and Bright household cleanser.

I've cleaned and lubed an AR with Frog Lube, but haven't found time to go shoot yet. Kids and all that. I was hoping someone else has had the chance to play with this stuff.

I've used it for a few months on most of my rifles.

I'm happy with it, I haven't had any problems with it.

I have used it on a Springer XD, inside and out. Have also used it on the exterior of my AR just to see how it "felt" after soaking for a while. Seems to work. I have shot the XD extensively since using it and it seems to do a pretty good job of keeping gunk from building up. If you clean out all of the little nooks and crannies after you put the stuff on, you have virtually no greasy spots on the weapon. So, not having oil or grease in the gun = nothing for grit and carbon to cling to? I guess? It's an awful lot of "process" to get a gun cleaned and "seasoned" like a frying pan, though. You are supposed to heat up the metal with a hair dryer or some other means, then paint the stuff on with a little brush... wait... wait... wait... until the stuff is dried almost to a paste like substance on your gun. Then wipe off with a cloth. After years of a specific cleaning regimen, it's kind of a chore to follow this procedure. I probably won't use it much longer. It does smell good, though. Like peppermint.

Like a lot of new products frog lube does not have strong chemicals that produce offensive odors. I find that the bolt and carrier cleanup easier after being lubed with it. I have always used a masking scent oil while hunting and I feel that the wintergreen smell will work as a cover scent.

UPDATE: NOT GOOD.

I've been using Froglube for some time now, I've treated my muzzle brake about 6 or 7 times.

I shot corrosive ammo, and within 2 days I have a lot of rust on it.

I DO NOT RECOMMEND FROGLUBE if you're going to use CORROSIVE AMMO.

I used it for a couple of rifle classes with Brian Hoffner (he sells it).
Worked well for me.

I'm going to get some when my Remoil runs out. I like that it isn't toxic, I prefer having as few harmful chemicals in my life as possible.

Why didnt you immediately clean your gun after shooting corrosive? Most of the lubricants I've used wouldnt stop corrosive rust if I didnt clean the rifle either. And when I say clean, I mean with hot water and lots of it.

Because other than the muzzlebrake my rifle has finishes that won't rust anytime soon.... Additionally what better way to test a products claims than actually test them. I went 2 days not 2 months. I've gone a week before with CLP and had basically no rust, so having tons of rust in 2 days is unacceptable to me.

I use it on my CMMG .22 bolt and it makes it easier to clean after a trip to the range. I use it on my Glock, AK and AR and it really works well on the outside too. It will bring back that deep black almost like Armor All does on a car.

Frog Lube/Tracklube Plus/Seal-1 is a good product inspite of their creative marketing.

Works great for me. Only One product to use and it does it all as far as I'm concerned.

I love this lube... it's withstood everything i can throw it froglube. I use it in my HK USP 45 and my AR 15 and yes it doesn't dry out. Not to mention it smells like mint.

I'd like to check about half the IPs in here.

I thought Froglube was just green colored roller coaster grease, or something to that effect.

I almost tried it but got to looking deeper and found something interesting. On their website it says it was invented by a SEAL (who must be a chemical engineer too) but there was another site that said it was found in a WWI cannon and backwards engineered or something. I have no idea if there is any truth to either, just relaying it.

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_3_7/550238_Conflicting_Frog_Lube_info_.html

Others, myself inclunded have noticed some inconsistant statements about the origin of the product. Plus it seems like every discussion board on the net has someone who registered just to promote it. That said it works pretty good even if it is just repackaged rollar coster track grease. It works great on a sliding glass door frame in my place that usually squeeks. I would buy it for that purpose alone.

It has turned me off with more of the left wing "green" bullshit, looks like something Al Gore would crap after eating a vegetarian meal....sorry for the rant but I am so fed up with this green bowel movement bullshit.

Nothing wrong with making a porduct that is safer for humans to use, just dont force the change. I have no problems with a company coming up with a safer product using there own coin and trying to market said product on the free market.

And I am so sorry for making this comment and analogy.....I really mean that....I told the story of what I posted to my wife just now and she was not "happy" with me.....I too want what is best, but I am just so tired of being "force fed" the green stuff...I am sure it is good stuff.....free market like you said....

I am actually an alright person!!!! Have a Merry Christmas
