#9 is a fine powder solvent, and a mild copper remover. Emphasis on the mild.

Back in the day. Today there are many non-petroleum distillates that will clean better with no odor.
Look at Hoppes Elite and MPRO7.
If you must use something with petroleum use Breakfree ( CLP )
