Several years ago I bought a half-case of Egyptian - does anybody know if its corrosive? White fifty-round bulk-pack box with black arabic writing and a blue stripe. Looks just like Yugo M67 - brass case with copper-jacketed bullet.

I bought some back in the 90's. There were some very hard primers in the lot that my AKs wouldn't ignite. They ran well through an SKS, though. The ammo I had was corrosive.

Thanks. I'll probably sell it and replace it with Yugo.

Looks like its also steel-core. Think I'll keep it, but I'm going to pull a bullet and see what's in it. Then I guess I'll shoot some of the opened box and see how my Hungarians like it. Everybody needs some steel-core just to have it.

ETA: I couldn't think of any more sentences that ended in 'it' in case you're wondering:).

Okay, examination complete; ammo is bi-metal (tombac) jacketed with solid lead core - no void at the nose, in a brass case, Berdan primed. Assumed to be corrosive.
