are russian 7.62 actually closer to .311 vs. .308?

are people using 308 or is .311+- what is more vastly used?

having a debate with a AK hater

thanks,

joe

The vast majority of mil spec 7.62x39mm bullets I have measured, from sources from all over the world, measure at .310" diameter. You can use .308" diameter bullets in the 7.62x39mm, but you might see a slight drop in accuracy.
