Anyone tried the Sig Sauer red dot sight on a ultimak AK mount? I have read on some forums where "I heard the only red dot to hold up to the heat from the ultimak is the Aimpoint micro" I was wondering if this was true? Im looking at the SIG red dot currently for my first optic I have ever mounted on a AK.
Thanks for the info,
I've seen a few pics of that setup, but don't have personal experience. There is a guy on YouTube, darque29, I think that really likes that optic. I have heard that optic failures due to ultimak heat are grossly exaggerated.

Well, I can come close. I have a Sig micro on my Krink, but it is mounted on the receiver. I also have an ITAC, which I read ITAC makes the SIG micro. The only difference between the two is the price and the name on the optic. I believe it cause I cannot find one single difference between the two except the name. My ITAC is mounted on an Ultimak rail on my yugo. I have about 300 rounds with this set up and I have not noticed any problems with the ITAC.

I absolutely believe this.
I compared the ITAC and SIG and the SIG has some kind of anti glint and the glass is not tilted like the ITAC...it is also thicker to prevent glare and other issues.
