Finished my night vision rig

SLR-105 base rifle
Aimpoint M2 in a Horse mount
Surefire M1 mounted to a ultimak
Finished off with a Manticore night shroud
I'm going to keep it to Hornady 5.45 for the ammo since it supposedly has more efficiently burning powder.
Hopefully flash will be kept down enough. I'll update when I can get this thing out to the property.

The ML2 dosen't have night vision settings, the M2 does. How do you like the RS mount?

Oops, my mistake, don't know why I put the L in there.. The RS mount is very sturdy and looks great. It is easy to adjust and holds zero just fine.

No joke. You can get the helmet mounted NV down behind the aimpoint and still have a cheek weld?

Do a search for the DIY IR laser. It is a Beamshot 1000 laser that you replace the laser diode with an IR version. It runs about $150 and is very bright. It seems to keep it's zero, although I have only shot it on an airsoft until I can get out shooting at night. That will give the the option of running an IR laser or using the Aimpoint to aim.

I'm sure he was serious. Unless you can rig your PVS-14 behind the aimpoint trying to do it using it helmet mount will be near worthless...

I'm sure he was serious. Unless you can rig your PVS-14 behind the aimpoint trying to do it using it helmet mount will be near worthless...
Hmm, this is my first experience with NV so I assumed using a NV compatible optic would work just fine. So it needs to be weapon mounted to work effectively?

I think he is saying that you will have a very hard time being able to get behind the optic with your helment mounted night vision rig. Have you tried to get a cheeck weld and look through the optic with your helment mount set up?
