762 Tactical Vest Order...how long am I going to wait?
I order a vest from 762 Tactical on October 1st, two months ago. I emailed them about three weeks after the order asking when I might expect the vest. Never got a response so I called about a month after the order and was told that it would be out that week. That was about a month ago and still nothing. How long should I wait before I start getting irritated about this? I placed this order because I wanted the vest and hate waiting for stuff. Am I being impatient or should I call again?
I wouldn't wait so long unless that was part of the original agreement. But that's just me.

he stated when i ordered it would take a week or two tops. about three and a half months later i finally got it. its a decent product but i was given the run around several times via email that it was going out in a couple of days and then it was never sent. i won't order from them ever again. ymmv
I just submitted an order for a custom rig. He quoted me a wait time of 3 weeks. I hope he gets it shipped out by the end of that 3 weeks. If he does and the product is built correctly and is nice quality, then I will be a repeat customer because I have some ideas for other tac gear I want made, too. I will keep the thread updated with my experience.

+1
He (Colin Baird) posted on Facebook several weeks ago that he had been caring for an elderly family member that had just passed away. He stated that the health complications had diverted his time away from the sewing machine. He is a one man show and does all his work from his garage. The wait times are the only complaints I have ever heard about his gear. I have one of his chest rigs and plan on buying another as well as his discreet bag. It's his version of the sneaky bag.
In short, his gear is worth the wait, which is how he has managed to stay in business all these years.
I've gotten two rigs from him. The plusses are great quality at good prices.
However both times I had a 2-3 month wait. He's busy, and what with his website getting an upgrade, I'm betting he is busier as well.
Just email him every couple weeks and keep him reminded. When I ordered my second rig I ordered it WELL ahead of when I actually wanted it, and it showed up about when I wanted.
As slow as he is: I've got 3 762 tactical chest rigs and plan on ordering a 4th at some point. It's what I use for my differant rifles. One with short pockets for my FAL magazines, one with deep pockets for 40 round RPK mags and one for my AK.
I just got my order in, yesterday. I am very impressed with the quality and turn around time. I got the C.I.A. chest rig and had him customize it with two additional mag pouches in place of two columns of MOLLE. I am definitely going to be a repeat customer. I have already emailed him about a custom suppressor pouch and am just waiting to hear back.

Reminds me of my 6 month wait on a rigger's belt from John Willis at OSOE.
