Has anybody on here done it? If so any advice you could give me?

Going to be purchasing a CIA GP1975 as a birthday gift to me, already put it in layaway at a local pawn shop with $150 down. They want $525, going to be putting about $250-$300 more down after I get through paying rent.

If it requires a substantial amount of labor I'll just probably go with original wood and save for a side-folder 74; but the idea intrigues me.

Kinda what I figured. How did you get everything to line up; Stencils, the sidefolder itself?

One option is this sidefolder
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/240518/arsenal-inc-side-folding-aks-74-style-busttstock-assmebly-ak-47-ak-74-stamped-receivers-steel-matte

It differs a "real" AK74 style buttstock by:
Not LOCKING closed, elthough supposedly it's very stiff and doesn't come open on it's own.
Being a bit longer, which increases LOP.
By being "drop-in" with just a little filing.

Not 10)% authentic, but a decent choice possibly. Hope it helps.
