My $459 AK Purchase... What is it ???

$459????????
Do they have any more?!?!
Hell of a deal!
You stole it! Good find.
That's definitely an Arsenal SGL-31, NOT a converted Saiga. You scored about a $850 rifle there.
Check your 922r parts count though, doubtful it's compliant with the parts I see.
Congrats on the deal.

F-in sweet deal. A little TLC and that will look like a champ. You stole that!
Yeah it's an SGL31. Nice score. Check it over good though and make sure there wasn't a hidden reason why the price was so low.
Well, I guess I'm jealous

I took it apart before buying it. It looks and feels like an Arsenal FCG. The inside of the receiver looks like it has been fired very little. I do not recognize the stock. What is it ???
Great deal. The stock looks Bulgarian. Guns shop probably paid $300 for it or took it in as trade.
Thief!!!

I'm so excited about this. That is an awesome score OP. Congratulations on that, truly, you got a hell of a rifle for an excellent price.
Total trash; ship it to me for proper disposal and i will help you forget you ever made that terrible mistake.
Nice score... Now go get mags, ammo and get to the range.
I hate you.
Damn man, talk about an awesome deal. Congrats on your purchase.

yep i would tooo... or keep a usa made mag in it!! like a promag for legal reasons
Looks like a beat SGL31. Since its an AK, the "beat" part really doesn't matter.. haha I'd say you did well.
I like the look.
Looks like it came out of Russian service.

For the neophytes among us, can you tell us what told you it was an SGL-31 and not the converted Saiga.

In the last pic showing the left side of the receiver it says "Arsenal Las Vegas" above the optics rail. That pretty much establishes it as one of theirs.

If he switches any parts out, then yes, he'll need to consider 922(r). 922(r) covers
assembly of a firearm, not mere possession of an assembled firearm.
Just shoot it and have fun. You got a good deal!
Fantastic deal on a great rifle. Some guys have all the luck.
I have ordered a couple tins of the Russian 7N6 and 750 rounds of Silver Bear 5.45 X 39 ammo. I also picked up 5 AK-74 mags. I will replace the pistol grip w/ a US made one. I will switch out the piston too if it is not US made. Did Arsenal use US made gas pistons ??? I will also make sure the muzzle break is US made. Can you experts tell from the photo ??? Thanks for all the compliments. I buy a lot of stuff from this gun store. They offer me deals sometimes.............

........It does pay to be a nice guy sometimes. Oh......What color pistol grip would you put on this rifle ??? A K-var black or plum one ???

It's marked Arsenal and 5.45. That makes it an SGL31.

To the best of my knowledge Arsenal uses either Russian or Bulgarian gas pistons, depending on whether the rifle was an SGL or SLR. If you want to use the gas piston as a US made part for 922r you'll probably have to replace it.

The Russian pistons are unique to those rifles 100 series/Saigas. I would not change it out personally.
Did that rifle come with a zig zag brake? Looks different than the Arsenal ones.
OP you scored a great deal.

Use magazines and magazine parts for compliance.

I didn't know that actually. But either way I'd tend to agree with you. I prefer to use US furniture, fcgs, and mag parts for my compliance and leave the "core" of the weapon alone.
