Small T.G.I. AK-74 Truck Gun problem ?
I have 800 Rd's threw my T.G.I. Truck Gun AK-74 Rifle, all and all I like it well.
Problem :
About every 200 or 300 Rd's the Rifle will stop shooting, upon inspection the bolt will be in the forward position but not completely all the way.
I will then pull the mag it will still have bullets still in the mag.
There will be a live round still in the chamber but not connected to the extractor.
I will pull the bolt carrier to the rear and hold it open, then shake the rifle, and the live round will fall out of the chamber to the ground, you will see a little marking from the extractor on the shell but it will still fire after I reinsert the live round into the mag.
Then the rifle will function fine for another 200 or 300 more ronds of shooting.
This has happened 3 or 4 times since I bought the rifle.
I am using fresh out of tin Russian 5.45x39 ammo.
Any help or experienced insight will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Alfred
no way should you be experiencing that kind of problem with an AK. I'd dump that piece of shit. Should have bought a Centerfire AK74. UTTERLY RELIABLE.
Disassemble your bolt completely and clean any debris out of the extractor channel. It sounds like some gunk or other material is gumming up the works when your extractor tries to snap over the rim on the cartridge, stopping the bolt from going into battery.
EDIT: did you fully disassemble the bolt when you got the rifle for cleaning?
