Help, installing new front sight post (meprolight)

Got a good deal on a tritium front sight for my ak. So it needs to go pretty low, but its loose when its low. Not sure if I need to force out that split before it goes in, or after its in. I can see it under the front sight. Do you tap it wider to lock it in. I just dont want to break it.

Well blue loctite held for about 5 shots, then sight slowly got crooked from shooting.
Took it home and fixed it.
I put on red loctite, then screwed the post all the way down. Then used a screwdriver and hammer to tap the split wider. Then it was very tight to unscrew to the height I measured it at. Very stiff to turn now so im satisfied it will hold. Even if the red loctite gets soft from heat it still should stay put. Its actually tighter then my other rifles so it should be fine.
