AMD-5 knuckle buster
Does anyone have an idea or whatever to possibly remedy the push button for the stuck constantly grinding into the top of my thumb (besides duct tape)? Its a fun gun to shoot, but my knuckle is freaking raw. Thanks in advance.
Screw it in more?
I do not have any thumb contact with mine while shooting. Follow yager's advice.
I did look at doing that but I wasn't sure if there is supposed to be a certain amount of travel on the push button. One of those "duh" moments.
Are you saying the stock release button is hard to push? Very common on AMD-65. Don't forget once you get it folded, you need to push the release again to unfold it. Otherwise you'll tear up the lock in the rear trunion. I usually find a table or chair edge to push it with.
ETA: Okay, I get it now - the push button is hitting your hand when you fire. Change your grip.
I had the same problem, the screw was slightly rought due to being marred when it was installed. I used a flat Swiss file and smoothened it, took out the rough burs, then touched up the head with some Birchwood Casey SuperBlack touch up paint. Tthe screw no longer digs into the top of my thumb. Also, the more you fold and unfold the stock, the easier it is to push in the button.
