What is my best option for aquiring spare parts for my 84s? I am looking to have an extra bolt carrier with gas piston and spare complete bolt at a minimum. I would also like to get my hands on any other available parts. I have watched gunbroker and the EE. I keep thinking my only option might be to buy another gun to keep in case anything breaks that way I will always have a spare. The problem with this is that I can't bring my self to break down another gun that is no longer in production. Does anyone know of any current production parts that are interchangeable with the 84s. Also, I have heard that the norincos chambered in 7.62x39 share the same parts as the 84s, with the only difference being the actual bolt. I don't know if this is true though. The reason I am so concerned about my .223 ak working is because I live in Connecticut and we are not allowed to own ak's in 7.62x39. Any info regarding this rifle would be very appreciated. thanks.

any Chinese carrier will work in your MAK90 .223 or 84s...the bolt face is different but the shaft diam. is the same.
I have even used Hungarian carrier on a Chinese build once. I hit it with blueing remover, then polished it...looked very close to chinese.

AK bolts should not be considered to be interchangible.
You'll need headspace gauges to go with the bolt.
In the event that the bolt doesn't headspace properly, you'll need a press and the tools required to remove move the barrel and replace the barrel pin with a larger one.
