Romanian Wire Folding stock on MAK-90 - Pictures

This post if for those just stopping by, but also for future reference for those who tried googling reference pictures of this set-up, but could not find any.

Been wanting a folder just cause. Picked up a few Romanian folding stocks on ebay for a good deal. This wont be a full time stock on the rifle. Just something to have on hand.
Got my stocks and went to work on the one I planned to keep. Being for the thinner rommy receivers, the part that fits into the receiver is too wide. It took about 20 min of hand filing the left and right side only, until I could achieve a snug fit. Since Rommy ak's have different tangs, naturally the tang holes dont line up. So your options are......

- use rear tang screw only. This leaves a small gap between the rear of receiver and folding assembly block. Unless you file too much, the stock assembly is tight in your receiver anyways, so there should not be much force on the end of this tang. Any heavy recoil drives the screw into the thicker reciever end of the tang anyways.

- do more filing and use the front screw. However then your rear tang will hang off the end of the folding assembly.

- Maybe butt the folding block assy right into reciever as made to do, and drill out hole in block assy. for nut and bolt??????

Anyways, here's some pictures. This is the lever version. It is easily activated without removing your grip. Sock almost hits safety pin, but not quite.

Yeah, cheekweld with a folder in 7.62x39mm can get interesting, REAL interesting with one on full auto. With the 5.45mm though folders are no problem, there's so little recoil .....................

Looks like it'd carry and work best with the 20 round magazine.

Have you tried it at the range with the folding stock?

I have not. I dont have a range membership this year, so I gotta wait till my friends neighbor takes down his corn.

I was thinking about getting some orange/amber/goldenrod paracord to wrap the "cheek piece" with.
