Has anyone ever taken a PSL and put SVD furniture on it? Would it fit? If so, anyone have pics?

I don't know about PLR, but PSL ...

It does not directly fit, you have to have adapters for the front of the front heat sheild. There are adapter kits for it, probably all available soon from Black Horse Arsenal

Someone else's collection with a SVD'd PSL:

That's a Black Horse Stock

Here is mine. The adapters for the SVD to PSL handguards is made by DsmLab. DsmLab has been out of stock for awhile. Try emailing DsmLab to see when is the next production. They are great! I love having the SVD handguards! The SVD Butt Stock is Black Horse Arsenal.

At the risk of asking a dumb question, what benefits do the SVD furniture offer that the standard issue PSL furniture wouldn't have?

I dont think there is a benefit. It looks nice, but its really expensive to convert.

Excuse me but if someone wants to play dress up games with their rifle, hey, more power to them, but don't cop an attitude and say "duh" to me when all I'm doing is asking a question. When someone asks me why I put an SVD cheek pad on my PSL stock I'm not going to say "to make a better cheek weld while using the scope. Duh".

Didn't this guy's momma teach him no manners?

Dave, I am pretty sure the "Duh" comment was made in jest and not used as an insult in any way. Yes, people spend a lot of money just for aesthetics alone on many different firearms, just look at all the AR picture threads. Hell, I do it myself. Just another way to make your weapon "yours."

ETA: well, looks like jeffco beat me with a response. Now..........can't we all just get along

Now....lets get this thread back on topic

ETA: I love the wood furniture on my PSL too much to change it out. I might swap it to better looking wood though.
