 PSL mag question

I was looking at a PSL mag during a shooting session, and I noticed a very small spring (like 1/2" long..almost looks like half of a ball point pen spring) in a groove on the back end of the magazine. It was kinked and didn't appear to be doing anything.

1) Is there a small spring that's supposed to be there?

2) If it is, what is its function?

3) There was no detent or anything else. I'm wondering if that screw just happened to be wedged in there. Because the mag seems to function as is with the long mag spring that's attached to the floorplate.

Thanks.

Nope, only one spring in a PSL mag. Might be the bolt hold open spring from a rifle??

Hmmm, interesting. I need to inspect the rifle itself, although admittedly I don't really know what to look for.
