It's not stolen I know that much, peeled off the "Used" sticker on the box to find a "new" sticker from the same gunstore dated 2009 with an asking price of 999.99.
However!
The rear turnion is battered and peened up pretty good. The rifle was literally ran into the ground, finish missing off the receiver, crown is either under a thick layer of lead or damaged, deep scratches from mag changes, even the hammer spring is weak. Bore is nice and shiny, no pits. Bolt and carrier look good. It just looks like a real Russian AK that's been in service.
So, I've got the means and an expert who knows how to take a fixed stock gun and turn it into an underfolder. I think the fixed stock turnion is trashed, I'm not a purist, and yes I want an underfolder.
I need to find the underfolder turnion first before I go any further. Anyone got any leads on a Turnion that would mate up to a Polish stamped stock?
I need new springs for.. EVERYTHING too. Anyone got any leads on recoil, and hammer springs?
And if anyone out there with Plum wants black I'd be willing to swap my stock set out for yours. stocks don't look like they were on the rifle during it's abuse, guy likely had rails and a folder of some kind.

K-Var. Shipping is very expensive though.
I've been searching for another polish underfolder kit myself. You can copes, they sometimes have rabdom parts, but you may end up having to buy a whole underfolder rear stock kit.
ETA:
pics or it didn't happen!

I just hit it with some Krylon. Overall it looks ok, finish is kinda lumpy. I think I needed to have it bead blasted before I painted it.
Oh, and it came with these strange slab side Bulgarian magazines. Black plastic, I can see metal inside the feed lips and a magnet will stick to that part of the magazine but not elsewhere. So I'm thinking the feed lips are metal lined. I got 10 of them with the rifle. Anyone know what they are?
do they say made in Bulgaria? There are also polish ones out there like that, but IIRC only the early ones had the metal feed lips. There's also some Russian 30 rnd mags for Saigas floating around too.

Yep, 9 of the 10 have a "Made in Bulgaria" sticker on the side.

not awesome mags, but could be worse. Do the locking tabs on back have metal?

Yeah, I managed to drop the rifle off my work bench with a mag in it. plastic cracked on the back of the mag release and I can see shiny stuff through the crack.
I'm assuming a German 24mm zig zag pattern brake wouldn't work on a 7.62x39mm rifle. Correct?

You would have to get the EG zig zag brake opened up for the 7.62x39 round. Quite a few folks have done it so you should be able to search for the subject in the archives. Your other choices to run a '74 style brake in 7.62 are
Krebs Custom 7.62 '74 Brake ,
K-Var AK-140US 7.62 Brake, or you could search the forums or Gunbroker for an actual AK-103 brake. Interhunt (Dmitry) was selling one on Gunbroker a few days ago, but it just sold recently for $100.
