best place to buy Bulgarian 4piece FH?
hey guys, looking to change the FH on my m92 yugo krink from the forcing cone style flashhider to the 4 piece Bulgarian flashhider but trying to find one seems to be hit or miss, was wondering if anyone knew the best website to buy it from as far as price and availability. and am i correct in assuming its the 24x1.5 threading, even though ive seen on different threads about it possibly being 25 or 26mm for the m92.
thanks
I've been looking for one for several months now, and just got one from Tickbite/Dave's collectibles that was advertised as "Bulgarian Surplus". I should have known it wasn't, but I guess it will have to do until I can find a real one somewhere. The last real one I saw was on gunbroker, for $130.
I've got one. May get rid of it for the right price/trade.
Wow, you guys are looking for the needle in the hay stack. I've been looking for over a year now. I finally settled for the Chicom copy sold by Apex. I just looked and it appears they don't have them right now either. I got 2; one for the Krink and one for the Draco when I SBR it.
I had read that some people had been having problems with some of the copies that wouldn't thread all the way down, but I will say the one I got from Tickbite did thread all the way down with no problem. I am going to try to smooth out some of the machining marks and then strip off the bluing and then paint it. I think it will look more like a real one then. Right now, the blued color just doesn't look right with the rest of my gun.
The ones I got from Apex had 0 problems. The color is alittle off, but didn't bother me that much. Of course the one for the Draco needed an adapter. I had a buddy spot weld the adapter to the FH, so it is solid and fits the Draco solid. Just seems too long on a pistol so waiting to SBR it then put the Bulgy on it.
Here's mine... It looks pretty good from this angle...
...but not from this one!

I've got 2 that I'm putting up in the EE. done and gone.. I bought them for my AKS-74U and my Draco, but have gone a different route.
gut on the akforum has us made copies for $70 shipped.he also has extended lenghts.
They are out there, but are a tough find. I have seen two legit ones for sale on the akforum over the last two months, one from buckshot was around $80, the other was under $100 as well.

Just don't fall for the ones at aa-ok. Those are airsoft and will get you killed.
I just ordered one from www.tickbitesupply.com
They have several in stock and list them as bulgarian military surplus.

That's the one I got... When you get it, you'll see it's blued, and I thought it didn't look right so I stripped and painted mine. I was going to use a can of gunkote I had, but the nozzle was messed up so I used flat black Krylon and baked it for about 30 minutes. Now I think it looks a lot better.

Do the knock-offs perform the same as the authentic Bulgarian? I am hoping the only difference between them is the color/finish. I don't want to spend money on something that only has cosmetic purpose.

Mine works really well. I fired the gun for several rounds without a muzzle device to function test my gun without one, and noticed a large fireball as well as a very loud muzzle blast. (I used ear protection, but could still tell it was pretty loud.) With the muzzle device, there was no more fireball, and the gun was noticeably quieter than it was before. (Still pretty loud though, but not nearly as loud as it was.)
I've got a couple thousand rounds through mine and I have to say there are no problems. As far as comparing it to the original I can't completely since I've never had the actual Bulgarian. But, same as Gimhollow. Test fired, fired with bell flash hider that came with it and then fired with Chinese knock off of the Bulgarian. Noticeable difference. Less flash than without or with bell. Chinese is the quietest of the three.
I don't believe the inside is chrome lined so it doesn't clean up to so shiny on the inside, but I don't have a problem with that. I just clean it and lube it to protect against rust and carry on.
One of these days if I can get my hands on a Bulgarian I will buy it, but for now the Chinese does what it is suppose to do.
I plan to put one on my Draco when I SBR it

I still have one available

I just ordered one that was made for the M92. It's threaded in the 26mm thread. Looks sweet.

It depends on what you're looking for, a real one or that type of flash hider. If you're looking for that type of flashider, ak-builder has US-made versions available. It should work for the 922r regs as well.
It's here at ak-builder

I called AK builder a few days ago. Unfortunately, He is out of the 24 x 1.5 mm versions but is making more.
I got the very first AK-Builder flash hider shipped out to customers. I just got my Krink back from Jim Fuller with it. Its a nice hider and Fuller liked it as well.
I still have a bulgarian one available SOLD

IM sent.
There are US-made reproductions being made by CNC warrior. If you go to the marketplace on akforum.net, you'll see them for sale.
DSA Arms has the Bulgy ones for under $90. I heard great things about the us ones from AK-Builder.com. Friends are telling me that the Bulgy's threads get filled with carbon and are a bitch to remove. They are telling me the nickle plated US ones are easier to clean for what its worth.
