STAY AWAY FROM SAMSON!! They twist on the gun.

Thanks for the heads up. I would be really upset if I paid that price and then wouldn't hold zero. I think that standard quadrails for yugo underfolders should be the same.

I don't believe so, but I could be wrong. I thought the M92's had shorter gas systems than standard, therefore the standard quad's wouldn't fit. Hopefully someone can verify.

I own a Samson rail. There is an entire thread on this subject.

Is the barrel on the M92 the same diameter as the M70 underfolder? I may have a solution if they are the same.

I'd call Krebs custom. They have a rail for under-folder guns. They'd know if it will work on your gun. I have a krebs rail on my krink now and it works great. Holds zero.

Just a heads up, the quadrail made by UTG for the full size Yugo's will work on the krink w/ some modification on a bridgeport milling machine. You could save alot if you can modify it yourself.

Oh. and Krebs does not make a quad rail for the yugo. Samson is the only one that makes a dedicated rail sys as I have found.

I can dremel all but the upper portion which must be exact. I have not yet been able to get to the milling center to have it done. I did a quick mock-up this past week and it will work. I will try to get some pics up when I'm feeling better.

Care to point us in the right direction?

I called Samson and asked them about any trouble they have experienced. He said that to his knowledge there have been no problems. I asked how it mounted to the gun and he explained in detail. As I understand there is a small piece that fits between the barrel and gas tube then the rest of the rails are screwed to that piece. It sounds like it will get very very hot and I don't know of any thread locker that will withstand that type of heat and not give up. I just ordered a spare yugo quadrail to cut up. At $70 it is hard for me to spend $200 more. I like the way the UTG mounts up and it is very soliid.

I bought a Yugo quadrail from cheaper than dirt for $70. I found them for $60 elsewhere. They are the ones listed for the M70 style. The top portion needs no adjustment. The lower needs some attention that I used my chop saw, dremel and an exacto file to do. I will post up some pictures as soon as possible. I cut the lower rail just behind the number 14 marked on the picatinny for proper length.

I must say that this particular kit comes with a barrel/gas tube spacer so the upper and lower won't pinch the gas tube down to keep the bolt from cycling.

Now for the part that will determine if you are serious about saving money and never having wood foregrips again. I had to remove the lower "keeper". I don't know the proper name but it binds the front lower wood grip back into the receiver. It HAD to go. It wouldn't lock down and I'm not having it jiggle around.

I used loctite on all screws. Photos to follow soon.

Do you think that the rail will allow your reddot to hold zero?
bwp777  [Member]
3/23/2011 10:17:29 PM
It better
I really don't think that will be an issue. I used red loctite on all the screws. I plan to run it hard next month and get it smoking hot to find out. For $70 and a little elbow grease I still think it is worth it if it only holds a light or other stuff. I can always put it on the top cover if all else fails.

I personally think it's a shame you took off the lower HG retainer. I'm hoping you pressed off the FSB to remove it and didn't chop it off. Those things aren't easy to find....looks neat.

Hey sir,

Can you do a picture of the gun's whole profile (without the extreme angle) and without the UTG rail covers on? I'm wanting to get a bettter idea of what needs to be done. Sorry if this is out of line!

I did chop off the lower retainer. I never plan to use the wood again as it wiggled around. I don't mind shooting more pics but it may be next week before I can get them up. I'm getting ready for a camping trip this weekend.

taking it camping with you?? with a 10 round magazine it would take up very little space inside a rucksack and you could add 30/40 round reloads via MOLLE attachment to the pack.... i know, i know, its absurd

Not taking it. Going to a state park. If I were going to the WOODS then yes it would be w/ me for sure.

What kind of cheekweld do you have with that red dot?

Not bad actually. More of a chin weld though.
