If I just want to keep the gun in its original configuration with the standard 10 round box mag, would I have to add any other 922 parts in order to legally use a tapco t6 stock? Also will I have to take the bayonet off? Thanks
It's a Curio and Relic. 922r doesn't apply. You only need to be prepared to devalue it by 35%-50%.

Just do not go around thinking all SKS's are C&R. Norinco's are not C&R

I personally would not do it to a Russian SKS as they are highly sought after and in my area they sell between 5 to 6 hundred range.

And C&R only applies to the rifle in it's original configuration.
922r is a 'subtractive' law. You have to remove X number of parts, which generally results in having to replace some of them.
The Tapco stock kit should come with a 'compliance kit', which will replace a few of the parts so that you have a legal amount of original parts.
Basically when were talking about 922 and SKS rifle it comes down to this. On SKS rifles that have the 10 round fixed magazine once you remove any one of the listed imported parts from the rifle you then have to remove an additional number of required imported parts so that the rifle in question on has 10 or less of the original imported parts left on it. The Yugo requires 5 imported parts to be removed and replaced with 5 US MADE parts and all other 10 rd. fixed magazine rifle require removing and replacing 4 imported parts and replacing them with 4 US MADE parts. You can remove and replace more if you wish.
The Yugoslavian M59/66 rifle has 15 imported parts on it all other 10 rd. fixed magazine SKS rifle have 14 imported parts, the grenade launcher muzzle attachment is the 15th part on the Yugo. None of the other various SKS rifles have this hence the 14 parts count on them. You can't add a US MADE part to the rifle that doesn't exist on it originally and count it towards the parts count. It has to be originally on the rifle to be removed and replaced to count.
Parts List
1. Receiver.
2. Barrel.
3. Muzzle attachment. Yugo M59/66 Only
4. Bolt.
5. Bolt carrier.
6. Gas piston.
7. Trigger housing.
8. Trigger.
9. Hammer.
10. Sear.
11. Disconnector.
12. Buttstock.
13. Forearm/handguard.
14. Magazine body.
15. Follower.
Also of note state and local laws may no allow you to add or have certain parts on you rifle such as folding stocks or detachable magazines.

Yes, Norinco's are not C&R (with individual exceptions). But they are all pre-ban. So 922r wouldn't apply.

Are you serious? I picked up a 1950 Tula (refurb) with all numbers matching, including the stock, for $300 a couple of months ago! Where are you from?

You got a deal on a Refurb, I haven't seen one for less than $375.00 in awhile (they seem to run in the $400 range). Non-refurbished are running $450-550 here in Colorado.
