I just picked up a Mitchell Arms Ak-47 chambered in 7.62x51 .308 Nato. I know they are pretty rare and they are great rifles. It is a pre ban (the post ban were engraved by hand with "M-90") This one actually says AK-47. It is in excellent condition and has the original manual. How much is it worth and where can I get more info on it (Ive googled some basic info but didnt turn up to much)
Thanks for any info.

Very nice rifle.

I would suspect, being it's a pre-ban in what looks to be excellent condition, that it's worth somewhere in the neighborhood of $2K. I've seen them go for that on Gunbroker anyway.

You can modify M14 mags to work in that rifle relatively easily.

Thats good to know. I saw mags on a web site for $175. Bad news is, I just sold 3 twenty round m14 mags a month ago. I wish I could find more on the history. Ive heard there are only 800 prebans in the states.

I have read that the rifle was produced primarily for export but was fielded by the Serbs in very small numbers. None of the info I have read was very specific.

The only pics I have seen of the M77 in the hands of troops in any real numbers was with the Cyprus National Guard. Saw the pics over on MP.net.

Neat - I've seen a one-off .308 Kalashnikov fabbed by a manufacturer I knew, but never knew anyone put them into production.

Very interesting, thanks!

Just bought a M90 (remarked over old grinding) Yugo RPK .308 last night. Excellent ++ condition.

Can you tell me a few things...

Seems to be conflicting info about the grips, the thread prot. and things..

My grip is black and thin, apparently polymer. IS this original?

My thread prot. detent moves freely, and you can spin off the thread cap.

My serial # is 57xx .

Has a small plate under the thread prot. that retains the cleaning rod.

Came with 2 mags.

All parts of the gun have a three digit # electro'd into them somewhere.

Bolt face shows no markings. Gas rod/piston is clean. Guy says he fired it a few rounds.
Any info on this ol girl?
