Century M70AB2 with canted sights here, circa 2008.
How do you recommend to go about it? I can't live with this sight picture.

you can pop the pins out, boresight, and ream them for taper pins.

how bad is it

is this something Century usually takes back to fix or do they laugh all the way to the bank?

Century only does warranty work and your '08 rifle is long out of warranty.

They fixed my rifle, I had the same problem as you. They turned it around pretty quick (2-3 weeks) and it shot dead-on when I took it to the range to verify their work.

Was it still under warranty?

I fixed mine by buying 2 1/8" drill bits. tapping the old pins out. rotating the FSB until it was eyeball straight (this was the hard part, it took a LOT of effort to get the sucker to move). drill out new pin holes using a 1/8" drill bit (a drill press is a must here). use the shanks from the 1/8" drill bits for new pins. cut the new "pins" to length with a Dremmel. and blue the ends.

Mine was not canted to the point where I had it pushed all of the way to the left and still had to aim off of the left corner to be on at 100m. Now the FSP is dead center (on the spec mark) and dead on at 100m.

My Yugo M70 underfolder had badly canted sights as well. Century took care of it under warranty without a hastle. Did a nice job too. It was obvious they had farmed it out because it was returned with a receipt from some gunshop someplace. I doubt they would consider your '08 production rifle to still be under warranty.

The good news is that you should be able to find an AKsmith who can correct this fairly cheap if you don't want to DIY.
