I seen that apex has the wood handguards I'm looking for but they say no hardware. My ? Is does my plastic factory set have the hardware needed to install the wood?
If not were can I find the hardware?

The only hardware associated with the handguards is the spring clip in the upper and the ferrule in the lower.

I just ordered my surplus wood set from apexgunparts for around 20$ shipped.
Mine is the m70 underfolder also.

You tell me if it's there or not. Look for the spring clip on the inside of the upper handguard (it fits between the handguard and gas tube):

Look for the ferrule on the receiver end of the lower handguard (easily visible on the rifle if it's there):

ok i got the ferrule but not the upper hand guard spring clip. I might have a extra romanain one laying around. you think it will work? i don't have the wood yet to try it out.

Post a pic of the wood when you get it. I'm hoping it's not real rough. If it is I was thinking of going with Ironwood but they are pricey.

Being surplus wood, there really is no consistency in terms of what one person receives versus another. His wood could look nicer than what you might receive or vice versa.

A vote for Apex here, they had mine shipped out pronto.

Just a little love, and I like the look a lot more than plastic..

I love the "been there, done that" look of surplus wood. I'd much rather have surplus wood than new, looks more authentic.

did you do anything to the wood? Clear coat?

Looks good, can't wait to get mine. It's already been shipped.

Before

Wood I received from apex

I did a little degreasing then sanding. To get the top to match the bottom I lightly stained them and added a poly clear coat.
Also added a few carvings.
