Looking at Galils
A local dealer has three Action Arms Galils. one 392 and 2 386. He wants $3500 for the 392 and $2800 for the 386s. Not having seen any real Galils in years, how is this for prices? Also this is in Mass.
This reminds me of the brand new IMI ARM that I almost bought for $750 back in '88........but didn't because it was so expensive!!!
I think $3500 is a good price for the 392. The price of the 386 seems a little high. That being said, I would buy the 386.
i wanted a galil for many years,i too almost bought one in '88 for 799 & talked myself out of it.22 years later i finally bought one in feb for 2600.00. im so glad i did. if you really want a real galil, 2800 is a bit steep, but it is such an overbuilt monster, you wont regret it.theres tons of mags & mounts out there, too,so theres really not much handicapping you ,either.DSA alone has 8,000 35 round galil mags in stock !
I bought a 386 a few months ago for $2750. It was unfired and came with 18 magazines and tons of extra parts, case, scope mounts etc. It is the BEST purchase I have made! Even though the I paid alot of money for it. These rifles will only go up in price.
Don't buy any "S" model unless you get it cheap. They are "post ban" guns and should be priced accordingly.
The Pre-Bans are all holding around $3K, some more, some a little less. You will not regret getting one, it is a true "investment" that you can use and really not hurt value that much, just keep it clean. They are one of the most reliable rifles ever designed, and you will be happy after you get one. My 386 and 392 have never failed me through over 10 years and thousands of rounds.
