A correct bipod will not come off with out removing the front sight post, a permanent install. The one's at MGS are too long for a Yugo M72.

Back to square one, where do I find a correct bipod for my kit? Here is a pic of my Yugo front end.

The Romanian bipod at MGS looks exactly like the Yugo bipod except it is a inch or 2 longer. If you have the means you could cut down the Romanian bipod and reweld it to the right length and smooth it all out and refinish. Sounds to much of a pain to do to me. Just an idea. Do you know anybody in Serbia?

I wish I did have a Serbia connection because I would have all kinds of cool stuff. These Yugo bipods are a rare bird. Seems strange that these kits were imported and sold without the cleaning rod and bipods. What happened to all those bipods and cleaning rods is my question? I have found a original cleaning rod, recently purchased a new Green Mountain barrell and lucked out and got a NDS-9 receiver after they sold out(long story on that) but the last piece of this RPK puzzle just escapes me.
