Just received my MTAC. Wow, is all I can say

I ordered an MTAC for my G19 based upon reviews here. I cannot believe how comfortable this holster is. I often forget I am wearing it. Amazing quality as well.

The bad news. I had to order one for my Sig P239, as well as the minoutaur mag carrier.

You just ordered the Kydex for the sig, right?

You don't need a whole new holster for each gun.

Naw, I went ahead and ordered another complete holster. Didn't feel like taking the time to change kydex bodies when I want to switch carry guns.

I will probably order one of their reinforced belts as well.

Let us know what you think of the mag carrier when you get it.

I've had an MTAC for my 1911 for a couple of years, and just picked up one for my g17 in the sale.
I'd carried my 1911 exclusively for a while because the galco holster I had made the 17 feel like a brick stuck in my pants.
I'll probably switch back now because it's comfortable, and doesn't weigh 4 pounds.

I though about one of the mag carriers but passed, might order one if it's nice.

Their 1 1/2" Kydex Reinforced Contour Belts are phenomenal for carrying a large frame handgun.

I never like to be an "I told ya so" but....I told ya so.

When I find something better, I'll switch to that.

I started out carrying in a Blade-Tech IWB. Now that holster is mainly used to transport a pistol to and from the car for center console duty or whatever. Well the other day I decided I'd just carry with it to the store and back since it was already out. Ugh, how did I ever carry with that uncomfortable piece of shit? There are people who still insist X or Y brand is the greatest thing, but if it has the belt loops stacked right on top of the holster body, that's strike 1 and if it doesn't have nearly infitinte adjustment, that's strike 2, and if it doesn't conform to the body to be comfortable, it's got to be a loser IMO.

Yup, holster makes a TON of difference. I had my S&W j-frame in an IWB cheap Galco holster, and it bothered the shit out of me. Yes, a j-frame. I have a spartan minotaur now (basically an MTAC), and put away a full-size XD with no issues.

J-frame bothers me.
Full size XD does not.

Holster makes all the difference.

I'm beginning to hate my MTAC because I'm too skinny at a 30 inch waist. My small waist makes my MTAC shift to a 5 o clock position which makes my G26 stab my lower back and makes for a painful draw on my arm. I'm switching to a Dale Frike Archangel for appendix IWB for this problem. I also like how much easier appendix carry is on the draw and it's somewhat easier to conceal.

Sounds like a few hamburgers would take care of that problem

I feel your pain. AIWB and OWB solved my problem.

I have been using the MTAC mag carrier for about a month now with both XDm .45 full size mags and USP9 mags. The holster is very well built and works well as all Comp-Tac products have for me in the past, but I am switching to the Galco horizontal carrier. The USP9 mags are okay, but the XDm mags are longer and jab into my love handles. I am not a small guy and I know this doesn't help. It just becomes too uncomfortable after a few hours and I end up just taking the mag carrier off.

The leather backing on the carrier just barely covers the whole XDm mag. The mag will end up sliding up and over the leather. Again, the USP9 mags fit fine. We'll see how the horizontal holster works. It has a adjustable retention screw; just hoping it will be enough to hold smaller (thinner) mages.

ETA: The MTAC carrier conceals great, stays in place, and I would definitly recommend it as long as there is .25"-.5" of leather above the mag.

I have a 29" waist and carry a P12 and it doesn't shift anywhere.

This is true but the leather gets broken in around a pistol and then you change and it changes the fit of the pistol so I buy whole rigs each time but that is just me.

I have the same exact problem regardless of which IWB holster or gun I am carrying. I prefer the 3:30 position, but the thing shifts back to 4:30 or so after walking around for a little while. I have found wider belt clips in conjunction with belt loop location limit the shift. I have just learned to live with it but I feel your aggravation. I'm 6'-3", 215lb, 36" waiste, I think the problem has more to do with body shape than size.

I have some ridiculously sharp hips and I think that's the issue. I don't blame the holster at all for this reason. The shifting only occurs when I sit.

I just got my appendix rig today and it looks like a winner. I also use a Hideous Holster OWB rig which is a clone of the Raven design. Since it's winter I can easily get away with carrying a G17.

I absolutely love mine, I recently bought another mtac kydex OWB for a g17 w/ tlr-3 at Thanksgiving. So far I really like it as well.

I always did a new MTAC for a new style of gun for this reason.

I'm the opposite

If it has a huge leather sweat guard/backing and clips/Jhook for tucking it must be for fat asses who carry at 5-6

Still using the IDP Blade tech with loops
