any issues with cci blazer 115gr?

i recently installed a 3.5lb connector, 6lb trigger spring, a 4lb striker spring (LWD trigger job) and an extended slide stop on a G17. trigger is nice now and i wanted the extended slide stop to match my G34

was out testing it today with some cci blazers and i was getting a lot of failure of the slide to lock back on the last round. make for good immediate action drill practice but it kept happening with 3 different mags. all mags are hi capacity. all were only loaded with 2-5 rounds (i was practicing reloads).

could this issue be due to the change of trigger components or just underpowered ammo that isn't racking the slide all the way back? i did not have any issues with FTF or FTE. everything was GTG except for the slide not locking back about 75% of the time.

thanks for any input.

Blazer aluminum cased 115gr ammo constitutes about 90% of what I feed my G17 and G26. I've never had an issue with it causing stoppages or slide not locking back. I'd check that slide stop first.

failure to lock the slide back? if its not a mechanical problem, ie: spring, then i'll bet its you riding on the new extended lever, down, keeping it from locking...adjust your grip, or at least pay attention to it to see if its a problem

My uncle ran thousands of rounds of CCI Blazer through his G19, after I told him it was junk.

He proved me wrong, in a big way.

This.

i realized it after i tore the gun apart and couldn't find anything wrong. been shooting too much 1911 and my high grip puts my thumb right on the slide stop. gonna put the low profile stop back in and see if that solves the problem. if not, i have to adjust my grip.

I had to break myself of the same habit when I started shooting Glocks. I have ran several thousand rounds of the 115 gr. Blazer through my 17 and 26 with no complaints.

I'm about halfway through a case I bought earlier this month.

There was a dead primer in there somewhere.

Second dud I've had ever.

My Glocks eat a steady diet of Blazer 115gr and Wolf 115gr

No problems with either after thousands and thousands of rounds

No problems for me. I ran 1k I found in the garage at a class this month. It was purchased in 2009.

My gen2 G17 has eaten over 3k without much issue, the majority fed through KCI mags. The issues I've had, I blame on the mags, n that I leave them loaded.

If you set your pistol on a solid surface with the mag well pointed up, insert an empty mag, then push the mag release. The mag should jump up in the mag well (like bread in a toaster) if not replace mag spring.
