Rear sight malfunction...as it not even installed properly from factory! UPDATE!

I got my new 92A1 out from the safe and installed a light on the rail. The safety was "stuck" when I tried to move it.

Low and behold, the rear sight had drifted to the left, and was 1/2 way out of dovetail. I turned the pistol on its side and out the rear sight came.

For whatever reason it was NOT secured at the factory. I was expecting that the dovetail cut would be angled a bit to hold the rear sight but that is not the case.

Tomorrow it goes out to a Beretta service center. I called them today and they told me that it would cost me out of pocket to ship to them for repairs. I said no, and wanted an RMA on it.

Calling tomorrow for the RMA. Funny thing is that the guy said they would fix it, but NOT fire it to confirm zero. Really, really odd. We shall see what happens.

Will give an update after phone call and shipment.

UPDATE- Called Beretta USA. They said to ship it right in, and will get the slide replaced or replace the sight itself, whatever needs to be done. Outstanding service so far.
