someone is asking $600 for a no dash 686 S&W no box box or paperwork
Personally it seems a little high
Please tell me what would be a fair price

The no dash and pre-locks 686's are fetching about 650-800 these days.
It's how badly you want it and how good the condition of the revolver is in.
Just bought a 686, no dash Lew Horton 2.5" for $750 a few days ago, but it looked like it was never fired before
(top strap and forcing cone was clean as a whistle)

All Stainless guns are over $600 at this point. The fact it's a no Dash and doesn't have a "hillary hole" makes it even higher.

That's a fair price.

AKA Infernal Lock or the Internal Lock.

Not to be confused with a "happy hole" you'd find on an M16.

Today I was at a fun show window shopping. I got to compare no dash with the Hilary Hole. The prices Oh My. For one with the lock that looked like it was drug behind a car $725. And that was cheap compared to a rough looking no dash

I recently paid 520 OTD for a 586 6" no dash in pristine condition with box and paperwork and a holster. So $600 would be a tad high around here. Ask $550 and see what happens.

I think that's good price. 6" are not as common as the 4". 4" are going for $500+.

Compare the trigger area of pre-lock and lock versions. The pre-lock has the nicer curve on the frame. The stupid lock required more internal
area to fit the lock mechanism.
