M&P Shield barrel swapping?
Alright so it's only been out for a couple days, I had the chance to feel one up at the gun show and it was even better than I had hoped it could be. So now the question arises:
The M&P 40/357 can utilize a 9mm barrel to reliably feed and fire 9mm rounds through the pistol, can the same be done with the Shield in .40? Does anyone have any measurements on the barrels to compare the locking locations and diameters?
The .40 is not out yet, so there is no way to know. I am pretty sure this is a question on a lot of people's minds, though.

Ah, thanks for the heads up. I saw that the .40 was on S&W's website so I assumed it had been released as well.
Any chance of a threaded barrel for it?

I just picked up a 9mm Shield yesterday and I second the threaded barrel.
What about putting barrels from other M&P models on the Shield?
I sent an email over to Storm Lake Barrels inquiring about a 1/2x28 TPI barrel for the Shield. I'm going to be starting an interest thread so anyone who is interested please "sign up".
