I shoot my M&P-45 better than my 1911's.... This makes me feel strange.

So. I've been shooting 1911's and BHP's most of my life. Since my early teens, really. I carry a 4" 1911 daily and probably put an easy 5k+ down the pipe annually. I'm not saying that I'm some kinda Tier 1/Ninja-commando but I'm pretty good behind a 1911.

I picked up an M&P-45 in a trade and decided to give it a try even though.... Well, let's face it.... It's plastic.

500 rounds in I'm faced with a cold, and brutal reality. I shoot the M&P better than any 1911 I've owned.

It's faster in transitions, more accurate in real world drills, more reliable in all conditions and generally shoots better. No more tuning loads to get them to run right in my 1911. In fact, I've shot up several batches of handloads that I could never get to run right in my 1911's. It's eats anything I can fit in the mag.

My world's been turned upside-down.

Guess it's time to buy a -45C for EDC.

I had a similar revelation myself! What I started shooting and carrying is nothing like what I own, compete and carry now! I like my M&P45 so much that I actually traded for a second one. I am hooked and have gone from zero M&Ps a year ago to four...and working on number five!

I shoot my M&P9C better than my non compensated 1911 race type gun. Go with whatever works for you.
