While shooting with a friend last weekend, the safety on his Bulgarian Makarov fell off in his hand as he was clearing it to store for travel home.
We couldn't find any extra pieces on the ground or figure out how it fit back together.
He says its a Bulgarian version, and it says "Arsenal" on the slide and appears to be in otherwise great condition.
He shot 3 magazines through it without an issue that day.
Is this a simple fix or should he have a gunsmith look at it?
As long as the firing pin is still in and the safety spring isn't missing, I "think" you just wiggle and push the safety back in.
Here's an exploded view:

Should be a simple fix. Here's a detail strip site with pics.

Thanks very much, I'll pass this along.
