I had a 629 Classic sportin' a Tasco PDP3 which I REALLY enjoyed! Both eyes open, very quick on target, handled the mag recoil with ease. Now, the 629 is gone and and a new hunting revolver is being sought as it's replacement. Along with new optics.
Yeah... I know... Just use the irons. I honestly wish I could but the ol' eyes, they ain't what they used to be. My shots will be well within 100 yards. I dare say within 50. So, no magnification is necessary. However, a smaller "dot" is. Say something like my Aimpoint ML3.
So let's say, I picked up a new .357 or .44 mag. Already drilled and tapped for a scope mount. All that's needed is an optic. Trijicon RMR? Aimpoint? Doctor? Eotech?
What's a good electronic sight choice capable of withstanding magnum recoil?
Ultradot 30. The ONLY optic that Magnum Research recommends as being able to survive the recoil on the BFR revolvers and Desert Eagle pistols. They are good solid optics, made in Japan, and can be bought for about $175.
