so her is the list of up grades to my Wife's PT 1911 that I have gotten for her.

Have not built it as of yet, waiting for the pieces to arrive and then will post before and after.

Soo ah I broke my wife's pistol.
I am screwed, what I broke was the sear spring there was a little tab bent over on it and I busted it off. hoo she is not happy with me right now.

order a new one, while you are at it, replace the sear, trigger, and hammer. I had to replace all on my PT1911 when the sear gave out after only 1000 rounds.

My PT1911 is at the gunsmith,problem sounds like what you are talking about. It has about 1,000 rounds through it.

Is this a wide spread Taurus 1911 problem? Or a 1911 problem in general? I just bought a PT1911AR from my brother and he has put about a thousand rounds through it with no problems. Are problems on the horizon for this gun? Should I replace these parts? Or just sell the damn thing and get something else?

From further reading on web I believe that the frame and slide are them selves are good solid pieces, but the guts need to be replaced.
I priced out a rebuild on brownells.com of midrange solid stuff and it looks like you can do a good up grade for less that $300.00
at this time the only issue I have had was with the sear spring.

Thank you saber, I went looking around today and found this as well. People in the 1911 forums seem to like these guys.
