PP vs. PPK
For a concealment pistol as well as general shooting pleasure what do you all prefer? Handling the two at the store made it seem like the PP wouldn't be that much harder to wear. Does the Police Pistol sacrifice any reliability or durability of springs in its scaled down version? I'd like some food for thought.
Try before you buy. I have only owned the PPK, but it doesn't fit everyone's hand, and slide bite can be a pain.
So if you can find one for rent, it may be the best money you spend.
IIRC, the PPK/S, is a PPK slide mounted on a PP frame, right?
Yes in order to meet the import ban from 1968.PPK slide and barrel on PP frame.extra round and steel back plus you could put those wrap around rubber grips on it.
I had two PPK/S's and a PP that I carried over the years.....I liked both models, but I was a little more accurate with the PP due to the longer sight radius. It also seemed to balance better for me as well.
I have always preferred the PP over the PPK.
The recoil isn't as snappy, the muzzle report isn't as pronounced, the handling and control is improved, you get an extra round or two depending on caliber.
PPKs were intended tfor people who carried a pistol concealed and rarely shot it.
PPs were intended for people who carried and shot their pistols often.
PPK/S were nothing more than abominations intended for the US market after gun control act of 1968
I too prefer the PP over the PPK but if you plan to carry alot then the PPK may be a better option between the two.
The size difference in minimal but it can matter.
