Walther PPS .40 mag follower missing slide stop
Hi guys. I just got a used PPS .40 shipped to me.The mag didn't eject well. I had to pull on the mag as I pushed the mag release. I pulled the slide off and I can see that the mag follower is sliding past the slide stop.So not only is the mag not ejecting well, sometimes the slide isn't locking back. I believe the gun was manufactured in 2008. Have you had this problem ? I'm thinking the slide stops might have been upgraded / replaced since then
Can you post a picture of the internals? I'd like to compare it with how mine looks. The thing that was upgraded in the newer models is the slide lock.
ETA: you can tell the manufacture date by the 2 letter date code on it. A 2008 would have the date code of AI
Thanks for the tip. My serial number starts with AB8 . Seems like you're confirming my suspicion that the slide stop has been re vamped from in the production of the guns.Took the gun to the range and it fires properly but the mag ejection and slide lock back issues persist. I'll post a pic as soon as I grab some batteries for my camera.Actually, I see the date code. It is AI
In the first pic, you can see the groove that is being worn into the follower just below the first land. The slide stop catch doesn';t seem to stick out far enough. it doesn't appear to be bent or worn in any way. Looks like a factory issue to me.

Just found the Walther forum and looks like this has been covered in a big thread.
