Is this is a colt 1909? what's it worth?

Is this worthwhile to restore or is it worthless and I should just shoot the heck out of it as is.
I've seen some crazy estimates on the internet for these, but clearly the chrome and horrible grips are aftermarket, right?

the nickel kills any collector value- what does the bottom of the butt say-it will say what model it is and us army if it was an army gun- it could be a 1909 that has been bubbafied or could be a much later 1917 that was rechambered from acp to colt and rebarreled- need more info

or else it is a regular colt new service that was never a gi gun which is what by definition a 1909 is.
